AUSTRALIA! This mysterious red continent attracts travellers from all countries! However, there are always 2 difficulties whenever you only think of going there. These problems are called TIME and MONEY!

The best sunrise of our lives
It wasn't particularly easy to hitchhike to the village of
El Chaltén in this shoulder seasson because there were not many cars on the road. However we made it and we've seen the best sunrise of our lives! It all started at 4 A.M. next day when we went for 15-hour hike in Los Glaciares National Park. After 4 hours of tough hiking through the cold night we finally stood in front of great Mount Fitz Roy (3,405 m). After half an hour of waiting the sun started to rise and perfectly illuminated the mountain peaks. The colours were just incredible! We were very lucky because we had an amazing weather and visiting El Chaltén will surely be one of the best experience from Argentina! We continue to hitchhike further North!

Perito Moreno Glacier
Today we enjoyed amazing autumn colours of
Los Glaciares National Park. We went there to see PERITO MORENO which is one of three Patagonian glaciers that is still growing. As the glacier moves and the sun shines large pieces of ice collapse into the freezing water of Argentino Lake. We even witnessed the whole 70m ice wall falling down at once! It made a lot of noice and it was absolutely breathtaking! Southern Patagonia is cold but also very beautiful in this time of the year !!

Samoan Islands: How to travel cheap in a tropical paradise
Would you like to visit a tropical island but it seems to be expensive?
Look at our
new article about how we travelled to Samoan Islands without any plan and we didn't spend any money for transportation and acommodation. Actually we didn't spend much money neither on food because there were not many places to eat :-)

5 funniest hitchhiking experiences in EAST TIMOR
It's not easy to travel in East Timor because it's a new country that became independent from Indonesia only 14 years ago. There is a lack of public transport, the roads are still in bad conditions and everything is very expensive paid in USD! Thus we decided to hitchhike across the country.

New Photo Story: Sea Gypsies of Mabul Island
People of Bajau Laut tribe known as Sea Gypsies spend their entire lives on the sea and they rarely set foot on land. Even today, they live in wooden houseboats near Semporna's islands in
Borneo, Malaysia. These guys are the masters of the sea and free diving! New-born baby is ritualistically thrown into the sea.

We have a visa to Indonesia!
Applying for Indonesian visa from
East Timor was not very easy, especially when we were asked to give them a photo with red background. There is only one shop in Dili where you can get the photo. The good thing is they borrow you formal clothes and so all people in this country have the same passport photo with the same jacket and tie :-D

Isla de Gigantes - Paradise Island of Giants in Philippines
Isla de Gigantes is a small island in Philippines full of
friendly people and smiling kids. It was quite hard to get there because nobody knows departure time of the boat. And so we had to spend almost all day waiting in the port but at the end it was definitely worth it! The islands are beautiful and tourist free!

A visit from the Czech Republic!
Our friends Franta and Marketa came to visit us in Queenstown in March and it was awesome! We took a week off in our jobs and went to discover the beauty of the south. We got to the southern most point of the South Island of New Zealand and we did some beautiful tracks in Milford Sound and Mount Cook National Park. We came back to Queenstown to work a few more weeks before we go to 6-week trip around NZ and maybe French Polynesia!!

New article: Thousand Buddhas in Longmen
At the end we enjoyed the surroundings of the little town of Yangshuo so much that we didn’t want to leave. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay any longer because we have already bought our train tickets for the next day. We were told to buy the tickets in advance because they are usually sold out. The high-speed train was 3 times more expensive than “hard-sleeper“ train but we had many kilometers ahead to get to Beijing. That’s why we decided to divide that long journey Read more...

New article: Bamboo Ride on the Lí River
The first evening in Yángshuò we met the owner of our hostel and we were asking him where to go next days to escape the crowds of tourists. The man was very kind and he also spoke English very well. „Finally someone will help us!“ We were trying to get as much information as possible. He showed us where to rent a bike and that we shouldn’t miss bamboo rafting on the Lí River. The nature in this area around the river should be amazing. He recommended us to take a boat Read more...

New article: Endangered Green Hill Paradise
Even though we enjoyed Guilin a lot, especially because of the cheap food which could be found on every corner, we had to continue further. One of the most beautiful sceneries of China was waiting for us. It was the area of round top hills surrounding the town of Yángshuò which is situated by the river Lí. For a while we were thinking of going from Guilin to Yángshuò by boat or bamboo raft but with regard to high prices we rather chose local bus. Read more...

New article: Hike up to Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces
One of the symbols of China are incredible Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces which are over centuries cultivated by local villagers in hard mountain terrain in South China province called Guanxi. We were curious how they are doing there and so we decided to make a trip to Longji. On our map it looked that the terraces are very close to Guilin. However when we asked how to get there in our hostel we found out it wouldn’t be that easy. Only one way by local transport Read more...

New article: How we discovered the real face of China
After our bike trip in Guilin and its surroundings the other day we decided to explore the town by foot. At first we found local market with many street vendors. We bought salty pancake and we also wanted to buy sweet rice milk. The pancake was strange and little bit spicy but it was eatable. However we apparently didn’t choose the right rice flavor because we got overcooked salty rice in some chicken broth. We ate that delicious breakfast Read more...

New article: Guilin, the Gate to South China Karst
„Wake up! Get ready to get off“ said a steward in the train poking us already at 5 a.m. to wake us up.  We thought it was too early because the arrival to Guilin was still in one hour and so we fell asleep again. „Come on guys! Get up!” The steward was back in half an hour poking us a little bit stronger. :-) She looked a bit nervous as if it was her who was getting off. We didn’t want to provoke her anymore and we started to pack our stuff. Read more...

New article: Biking through Chinese villages
Right after our arrival to Guilin we rented bikes and we went to explore surrounding Chinese villages. It started to be interesting already in the bike rental because nobody spoke English there. We only had to use body language. We arranged everything well after all and our first bike trip in China could start. The town was a little bit bigger than we expected. It was rather typical Chinese village with almost one million inhabitants. On big crossroads there were Read more...

New article: China by train
In the afternoon we packed our stuff and we took a metro to Shenzhen railway station which is the gate to People’s Republic of China. Hong Kong is a special administrative zone with its own system and currency - Hong Kong dollar. At the railway station we had to pass through many security procedures. After security procedure in Hong Kong we also had to pass Chinese visa and passport control.  We have already had our Chinese visa from Prague. Read more...

New article: Hiking in Hong Kong
After our arrival to Hong Kong we were impressed by surrounding green hills that were rising above the city. There is a hill called Victoria Peak which is situated in Hong Kong Island. This peak is very touristic because it is situated in the heart of the city. If you go a bit further from the crowds you will be rewarded by nice path around another close hill. We were quite surprised that after a few minutes of walking there were no people and we could admire beautiful view Read more...

New article: Hong Kong, the City of Skyscrapers
After extremely short night that we spent in the plane from Dubai they woke us up at 3 a.m. with the breakfast because the landing time in Hong Kong was already at 4:45 a.m. We didn’t sleep too much at the airport in Dubai neither and after all those transfers we didn’t arrive to Hong Kong very fresh. We picked up our baggage and it again surprised us how big and heavy it was. All the stuff for 2 years of traveling including light laptop, camera and some water is already Read more...

New article: Bikini or ski? Welcome to Dubai!
Instead of everyday rush at work we prepared our backpacks and got on a plane. This is how our trip „Break Free from the Office and Travel the Word“ started. Our first destination before one month trip to China and Taiwan was a short stop in Dubai. We arrived to Dubai at midnight and we slightly postponed the next flight to have one day to visit this modern city of business. This stopover was a great opportunity to visit another place which wasn’t originally in our plan. Read more...
